The Connection Internet Cafe

 IMGA0193.JPG (119556 bytes)

This is a top drawer Coffee House doing everything one can do to succeed.

IMGA0187.JPG (121297 bytes) Internet Lab with computers supplied.  Also they are a Wi Fi hot spot.

Please notice that the lab is a room with a glass wall exposing the interior to the cafe.  No one can miss it.  A biter around this wall is a Hide A Way conversation pit, and further along, a private meeting room,  IMGA0183.JPG (130965 bytes) with a glass wall exposing it to the cafe, and then a stage with house supplied sound system.  There is a corridor with a half wall dividing it from the cafe booths and tables.  This is good because people accessing this area do not walk among the other patrons in the cafe.  And, you can use these room even during entertainment.  The service counter is long and well done and the staff face the audience.  I'm guessing the size at over 5,000 feet.  And the very good food.

The store has a super location - end cap in a strip mall.  They advertise in the local tourist material and they are very close to the University of North Carolina, Wilmington.

The staff are well trained and you know they are happy working at The Connection.  Theresa was very helpful, and I'm sure touched base with someone, which is a sign of good and broad training, before granting us permission to take pictures.  She is gracious and makes a good double espresso - lots of crema, not too hot and easily consumed in a gulp.

Jenell greeted us as we entered the cafe and took our orders professionally and with a big smile.  It was contagious and set the tone for our whole visit.  We had lunch.

The store is closed on Sunday and apparently some of the staff attend Sunday service together.  Good team.  And it shows.

I've always admired Chic Filet for adopting Sunday as a day of rest for the staff and so too now The Connection Internet Cafe.

Here's the outside cafe with plenty of tables and a nice fence separating the area from the parking area.  This is a well thought out cafe, with a plan well executed.  IMGA0194.JPG (115814 bytes)

This was a first class experience in a first class shop.
